The best meal of my life: omakase at treebones big sur

I kid you not, this was the best meal that I have ever had in my entire life.

I’ll set the scene: you are sitting at an intimate sushi bar (6 people total) in Big Sur, on a cliff overlooking the ocean. It’s golden hour, the sun is setting and you are about to see a picturesque California sunset. You’re watching the chef prepare the freshest fish you’ve ever seen... and you get to eat it. Could it get any better???

It was a ~12 course tasting menu. The first three dishes were small appetizers, and then there were about 9 pieces of nigiri. The fish was unbelievable, the rice was hot…. I wish it never ended. We actually tried to stay for a second seating, and would have, had it not been booked.

It’s $$$$, but 100% worth it (except for the fact that no meal will ever compare). I would HIGHLY recommend. Not surprisingly it books up, so you should book in advance.
