Every influencer and their brother is posting about Mush, so I obviously had to try it. For those who have somehow not seen this on their Instagram, it is basically like pre-packaged healthy overnight oats.

In full transparency I’m not a big overnight oats person - the texture just doesn’t really do it for me and it usually makes me feel kind of sluggish. I also don’t love starting my day with lots of sugar and I find overnight oats end up being pretty sweet. For those reasons, I was not heavily optimistic about my liking Mush but everyone was raving so I felt there was a chance…

I ordered the peanut butter flavor and the vanilla almond flavor. Here are my thoughts:

General: I think the concept is great. It’s such an easy thing to have in the mornings, especially on-the go…you just open and eat. The consistency is just like overnight oats so depends on whether you like that or not. It does have a good amount of sugar (10g) but all whole ingredients so I’m there for it.

Specifics:

The Vanilla Almond was my favorite. It was kind of sweet, but not overwhelmingly. I’ll eat again especially on those days when I’m traveling, rushing out the door, etc.

The Peanut Butter was not for me. It had peanuts in it to add crunch, but they were almost kind of soft (??) so the consistency was just strange. It took me a while to even figure out they were peanuts because the texture was so off. I almost did not finish it…

Overall: I’m definitely a no on the Peanut Butter but the Vanilla Almond is something I’ll be keeping in my back pocket. I don’t for-see myself ever eating these daily (just a little too sweet for that) but I think they are great for on-the-go and I feel really good about the ingredients.

Have you tried Mush? WDYT???
